After the great success of the 5th edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo in November 2016, the upcoming fair, held from May 17 to 18, 2017, continues its upward trend. With 58 exhibitors and more than 1,000 pre-registered visitors, the 6th edition is already breaking records.Fine denim fabrication and fine denim treatments are no longer a question of «made in» – technical knowledge is not tied to traditional denim regions such as Italy or Japan any more. Techniques are available all over the world now. It’s all about the right network to produce excellent products.

Bangladesh is the heart of the denim industry and Bangladesh Denim Expo already plays an important role to establish new denim networks. The 6th edition wants to pay even more attention to that.With an expanded floor area and a fresh new both

design made from bamboo, the next Bangladesh Denim Expo will welcome its guests in two separate halls for the first time, offering even more highlights. The 6th edition is again going to capitalize on sustainability topics, promoting new developments and innovations in denim production and the whole denim supply chain.

With the focus on trends for F/W 2018, the Bangladesh Denim Expo will showcase innovative trends and techniques that will rule the denim world for the next seasons. Inspiration is crucial, so the show decided to expand the trend zone incorporating a new information exchange zone with a selection of the most relevant denim related publications and design tools. Moreover, the gallery displays a range of innovative products, specifically finished for the show by Tonello Garment Finishing Technologies.Alice Tonello, R&D Manager at Tonello, and Designer Piero Turk will also hold a seminar on trends in garment finishing, embracing cultural, onsumerismeconomic, ecological and technical considerations.A novelty is the presentation of the ancient craft of Sachiko hand stitching, which was used to embellish garments in Japan.In accordanceIn accordance to the overall aim to increase sustainability in produconsumerism, repairing denim becomes more and more important. Skilled machinists demonstrate how to dam and mend old jeans. But also future technologies will be part of the show: With the aid of Virtual Reality Booths, visitors are cordially invited to join a virtual tour of a fabric mill, denim factory or laundry.

More than doubled in size, the last edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo welcomed 55 exhibitors from 16 countries gathered, to present products from the entire denim supply chain, ranging from fabrics to finishes and accessories.

16 denim manufacturers joined Bangladesh Denim Expo for the first time. The number of visitors increased in accordance with the bigger size of the show.

More than 5,000 denim professionals from 46 countries including buyers, brand representatives, CEOs, sourcing managers, manufacturers, merchandising managers and denim lovers attended the show, about 1,000 more compared to the previous show in May. Most of the foreign visitors came from Germany with 19%, followed by Spain (16%), France (14%), Turkey (12%) and Italy (9%). R.H.
