Bluezone – the denim area of Munich Fabric Start- was introduced in 2003 as the first stand-alone trade show concept for the denim and sportswear industry. The success continues to this day. With over 100 brands, the two halls of the latest edition of Bluezone were once again fully booked, presenting an international premium portfolio of denim mills and current developments, finishes and washes for denim & sportswear.‘Amplifier – Transforming the Future’ served as heading for the Bluezone this time, presenting denim pushed to its creative boundaries. In accordance to the new keyword, with over 100 brands the two halls of the Bluezone were once again fully booked. Looking at the denim trends, fits are getting wider and more ample, too. ‘Fashion goes Technology’ was the motto of the Keyhouse concept of the fair. Here, over 40 suppliers showcased their latest technology

and sustainability developments that can be integrated into textile products and high fashion. Among them were bluesign technologies AG and G-Star Raw with their “Let’s Detox Denim – Mission Blue” cooperation. G-Star plays a leading role in

the detoxification of denim using bluesign systems which is based on an input stream management for a reduced use of chemicals and a maximum protection of people and environment. The highlight of the events section was an exclusive lecture by renowned trend expert Li Edelkoort. From September 2017, Bluezone will be extended to three days just as the other pavilions of Munich Fabric Start from September 5-7, 2017.
